Survey for CEDRE(*) : RAPSODI experimentation * Centre de Documentation de Recherche et d'Expérimentations sur les pollutions accidentelles des eaux (Center of documentation and research of accidental water pollution)

- Waverider buoy -

On this survey, DRSM had te responsability of the navigation of the « blow-up boat » to take samples, and the follow up a « Waverider » buoy. This buoy derivative permits to know the distance evolution of the slicks.
The RAPSODI experiment had a specific purpose, on the one hand, to evaluate an airborne device which detected floating slicks of hydrocarbons. This device was on an aircraft from CEV (Centre d'Essai en Vol). On the other hand the experment was also to collect datas on fresh, or old , scattered slicks of hydrocarbons and floating chemical products non toxic for the environnment.
All informations has been compared with those obtained by other classical detectors (IR - SLAR - microwaves) and satellites (Radarsat).
